Regarding our e-Commerse Online Store
Green Water Ranchu's e-commerse online store will be down until a current spawn is ready to be sold.
The reason for this decision is that we are a small operation that spawns only once a year, so that we are able to provide the best care to the few Ranchu that we spawn, and sell -- that could be anywhere from 3-9 months until we are ready to sell our Ranchu, while in the mean time, being billed monthly to run our online store totaling $90.00-$270.00 in a 3-9 month timeframe.
Since we sell our Ranchu at a reasonable price, (typically $40.00/ea) the first several Ranchu we sell, (depending on the duration the store was open with no product to sell.) would only be to cover the bills we incurred while keeping our online store open.
For example, if we kept our e-store open for 9 months while we had nothing to sell to anyone, we would have paid at least $270.00 to keep the website running.
Those bills require us to sell a minimum of 7 Ranchu just to cover the website subscription fees we incurred the last 8 months with no inventory, and if we only have 50 Ranchu available to sell each year, that means we only have 44 more Ranchu to sell to turn even the littlest of profit -- which goes back into the hobby (i.e. food, water, heat, medications etc...), and who knows when we will make our next sale? It could be a few months longer, still.
With that being said, we have decided that it would be financially unwise to keep our online store up and open, with nothing to sell to anyone, until each spawn is ready to be sold.
Please be aware, also, that I will still list fish on this website (greenwaterranchublog.com) in the mean time, and this website will always be up and running and acting as a backup incase we decide to permanently decide to close our e-commerse store.
